<a id="overview" />

Silmaril discovers supported local coding agents, prepares their protection, inventories integrations, and shows current protection activity.

Keep each Mac in its existing device configuration. Add the Silmaril profile and app to that configuration, scoped to the intended devices with a tag, group, or label.

Preserve existing controls such as CIS settings, FileVault, Falcon, and Okta Device Trust. Silmaril is a separate profile within that deployment. Never merge its payloads into unrelated baseline profiles.

## Current release

Stable {macosRelease.version} (build {macosRelease.build}) requires {macosRelease.minimumOS}.

This release is Guardian Disabled. It runs without Silmaril's privileged background service or system extensions, so macOS does not ask for Full Disk Access, system-extension, or background-service approval. File and network extension audit collection is not available in this variant.

Nightly 0.3.28 (build 1102), Guardian Disabled.

[Nightly DMG](https://downloads.silmaril.dev/macos/releases/0.3.28/1102/Silmaril-0.3.28-1102-guardian-disabled.dmg) for interactive installation. [Nightly PKG](https://downloads.silmaril.dev/macos/releases/0.3.28/1102/Silmaril-0.3.28-1102-guardian-disabled.pkg) for an explicitly selected managed pilot.

See [Nightly installation](/docs/macos/install#nightly) before choosing that channel.

## Next steps

[Verify protection](/docs/macos/verify) on each pilot Mac, including its existing baseline, before expanding a rollout. Add optional policy with [managed settings](/docs/macos/settings), resolve policy, connection, and restart states with [troubleshooting](/docs/macos/troubleshooting), and remove the app and its integrations with [uninstall](/docs/macos/uninstall).
